The title is taken from a Marie Curie quote, scientist and Nobel Prize honoree, “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”

Holding Together brings together artists working across textiles, basketry, ceramics, sculpture, woodworking, printmaking, book arts, dance, and installation. Although each artist approaches making through a distinct material language, together they reveal the many ways structure, labor, memory, and place are woven into contemporary practice.
